Let's Take this Outside: Retail and Eateries Move to the Great Outdoors
What will it look like when you run out for a lunch meeting these days? Chances are you will be eating outside.
Center City District has released the findings from their survey on out door dining and it shows that 92% of respondents say that:
More than 92% of respondents report that they will feel more comfortable dining outside at a sidewalk or street table than inside at a table or bar. Similarly, 84% indicated they would be more likely to dine out if bars and restaurants provide more outdoor seating.
Food + Beverage businesses across the city lit up last weekend with the announcement that outdoor dinging is now permitted in Philadelphia. These new rules coupled with the beautiful weather surged restaurant earnings from one weekend to double from the previous week.
A group of brewers has decided to join forces and create a “Spring Arts Beer Garden” on a massive surface parking lot adjacent to one of the tap rooms. Spearheaded by Love City Brewing, they saw an opportunity to partition off the already underutilized lot and have each brewery set up tents and bars in the same space. This weekend the Spring Arts Beer Garden will soft open and then will be operating the following weeks from Thursdays-Sundays. Stop by to grab brews from Love City Brewing, Roy Pitz Barrel House, Triple Bottom Brewing and Yards Brewing Co.
Just across the street, a new business concept called Maidencreek Co. is an urban oasis offering locally sourced and sustainable florals and food options. They have been opening for delivery pickups and small gatherings but are now ready to hold steady office hours and this weekend they will offer a build your own bouquet bar with cocktails and lite bites during their Summer Solstice Spritz.
