Breathing Buildings
ULI recently presented best practice in “Breathing Buildings” technology. This new building systems science that amplifies natural airflow from outside to inside to back outside again. Presented by Buro Happold Engineering + PJ Dick Construction, subject matter experts walked through prime examples of living, no breathing buildings.
Breathing Buildings are great for the environment but they are even better for work flow. Studies have shown that productivity increases 11% when given access to natural ventilation, for example, employees will type more words per minute. This construction type is ideal for purpose built vertical campus.

Adaptive reuse applications? In low to midrise buildings operable windows + HVAC and airflow analysis are applicable.
